Frequently Asked Questions — HandyDan Contracting
What areas does HandyDan Contracting serve?
HandyDan Contracting is based in Flemington, NJ and serves homeowners throughout Hunterdon County and surrounding communities, including Bridgewater, Somerville, Clinton, Annandale, High Bridge, Califon, Readington, Raritan, and the Easton, PA area. Most projects are within about a 30-mile radius of Flemington (08822).
Is HandyDan licensed and insured?
Yes. HandyDan Contracting is a fully licensed and insured New Jersey home improvement contractor. Owner Dan Keinan personally manages every project from the first estimate through the final walkthrough, and permits are pulled whenever a job requires them.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A typical full gut bathroom remodel takes two to three weeks depending on scope, tile selection, plumbing relocation, and material lead times. Walk-in shower conversions usually run about one to two weeks. Dan provides a clear timeline up front and is on site every working day until the job is finished.
Do you install heated floors?
Yes. We install Schluter DITRA Heat electric radiant floor systems under tile for bathrooms, kitchens, and entryways. The system combines uncoupling membrane, waterproofing, and even radiant warmth in a single layer, and it carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty.
How much does a remodel cost?
Every project is different, so we offer free, no-pressure estimates after seeing the space. Pricing depends on the scope of work, material selections, plumbing and electrical changes, and layout modifications. You will get an honest, itemized estimate before any work begins.
Do you handle the whole project or just one trade?
HandyDan handles the full project. Dan coordinates a consistent, vetted team of licensed plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians so your entire renovation runs under one contract — one point of contact, no juggling trades or chasing updates.
